End-to-End AERMOD Modelling Services

Complete, regulator-ready dispersion modelling studies built with accuracy, transparency and full traceability. We prepare inputs, process data, run simulations and deliver reports so your team can confidently defend results before the authorities.

AERMOD AERMET AERMAP BPIPPRIME

Full Project Support — Workflow Overview

Project Scoping

Define study objectives, regulatory references, deliverables, and required datasets upfront to avoid rework later.

Emissions Inventory

Detailed source characterisation, temporal allocation, and conversion into modelling-ready formats.

Meteorological Processing

AERMET preparation of surface and upper-air datasets, with full QA/QC documentation.

Terrain & Receptors

AERMAP-based terrain processing, hill-height scaling, and custom receptor grid design.

Model Runs

Execution of AERMOD with agreed scenarios and parameters, including BPIPPRIME building downwash where applicable.

Post-Processing

Generate isopleths, grids, percentiles, and GIS/KML-ready datasets for technical review or presentation.

Final Deliverables

Submission-ready technical report, reproducible inputs, and all versioned outputs suitable for regulatory filing.

This workflow reflects end-to-end AERMOD execution: from scoping and QA, through inputs and runs, to outputs and documentation.

Deliverables — What you will receive

Clear, versioned and reproducible outputs designed for regulator submission and technical review. Core deliverables are produced as standard; optional items are available on request or by separate agreement.

Core deliverables (standard)

  • Submission-ready technical report (PDF): Executive summary, objectives, regulatory context, methods, inputs, results, discussion, conclusions and appendices (emission tables, met data summary, assumption log).
  • Reproducible input files: AERMOD control (.inp) files, AERMET meteorological inputs, AERMAP outputs, BPIPPRIME inputs where applicable — all versioned.
  • Run outputs and logs: Model output files, run logs and a change history (provenance) showing exactly which inputs produced each result.
  • QC & provenance package: Data validation summary, quality-control checks, exception log and a concise uncertainty note highlighting key sensitivities.
  • Spatial & tabular results: Isopleth maps (PDF/PNG), concentration grids (CSV / GeoTIFF), receptor tables, percentile and exceedance tables (CSV / Excel).
  • GIS/KML outputs: KML for Google Earth and GeoTIFF/shapefiles for direct import into common GIS tools.
  • Reproduction readme: Plain-language instructions and any batch scripts required to reproduce the exact model runs (software versions and settings documented).
  • Technical handover meeting: One walkthrough call to explain results, assumptions and how to defend the study with regulators or stakeholders.

Optional deliverables / add-ons

  • Full regulatory liaison or representation (available under separate engagement).
  • Purchase and integration of proprietary meteorological datasets.
  • High-resolution mapping, custom cartography or presentation-ready figure sets.
  • Extended sensitivity analysis, scenario runs or Monte-Carlo style uncertainty sampling.
  • Custom data formats on request (e.g. specific GIS schema, API-ready CSVs).
  • Extended post-delivery support (additional review calls, regulator follow-up packs).

Delivery formats: PDF report, ZIP archive of inputs & outputs, CSV/Excel tables, GeoTIFF / Shapefile / KML, PNG/SVG figures, and any scripts/batch files used.
Note: All deliverables include versioning and a provenance log. Items marked as optional require prior agreement and may incur extra fees.

Our Engagement Process

From first contact to a fixed, defensible scope of work.

Step 1 — Initial Consultation

Free

A short call to establish objectives, regulatory drivers, and whether turnkey delivery is the right approach.

  • Confirm project type, scope and success criteria
  • Identify available datasets and potential gaps
  • Determine if a structured scoping session is required

Step 2 — Scoping Consultation

Paid

A structured working session to define assumptions, deliverables, and provide a fixed-price proposal. The fee is credited if the project proceeds within 60 days.

  • Review permit or guideline requirements
  • Select modelling methods and options
  • Define assumptions, inputs and uncertainty notes
  • Agree deliverables, formats and delivery timeline
  • Issue fixed-price quotation for turnkey execution
Typical scoping fee: $ 65 - $ 125 (credited if project proceeds within 60 days).

Typical Timelines & Indicative Fees

Actual scope and costs depend on source complexity, data readiness, and regulatory framework. The ranges below provide indicative starting points.

Small (Single Source)

  • Client-ready data inputs
  • Simple receptor grid, basic QA
  • Minimal post-processing outputs

Starting at: $ 2,500

Medium (Multi-Source)

  • Meteorological data processing and QA
  • Terrain and receptor domain setup
  • Expanded reporting with supporting figures

Typical range: $ 4,375 - $ 6,250

Large / Complex

  • Extensive source inventory and scenarios
  • Multiple domains or nested grids
  • Advanced regulatory outputs and visualisation

Indicative from: $ 6,250

Fees shown are indicative starting points (USD). Taxes and third-party data acquisition are excluded. Final fees confirmed after the scoping consultation.

Why a Two-Step Approach?

Separating scoping from delivery reduces project risk, avoids misalignment, and ensures technical defensibility before major effort begins.

Benefits

  • Clarity: scope and deliverables agreed before modelling starts
  • Efficiency: early identification of data gaps prevents delays
  • Defensibility: documented assumptions and QA trail support regulatory review

Not Included (Unless Contracted)

  • Direct regulatory representation or negotiation
  • Purchase or resale of third-party meteorological datasets
  • Extensive raw data cleaning beyond agreed preprocessing
