AERMOD Cloud is Now AERMOD One

Envitrans has renamed AERMOD Cloud to AERMOD One, giving the software a clearer identity that better reflects its current capabilities and desktop-based architecture. The change is limited to the product name, with existing functionality, licensing and modelling workflows remaining unaffected.

From Cloud to Desktop

The origins of AERMOD Cloud date back to 2011, when Envitrans developed a browser-based platform for running AERMOD simulations remotely over the internet.

Around 2013, development shifted towards a Windows desktop application to better support local data management, offline operation and high-performance computing. Over time, the software evolved into an integrated modelling environment with advanced processing capabilities, including support for parallel processing.

Despite this transition, the original name, AERMOD Cloud, remained in use, even though the software no longer relied on cloud-based execution.

Why AERMOD One?

The new name reflects the software's integrated approach to air dispersion modelling. AERMOD One brings together AERMOD, AERMET, AERMAP, AERSURFACE, BPIPPRM and advanced post-processing tools within a unified desktop environment.

The name also eliminates the ambiguity associated with Cloud, clearly identifying the product as a locally operated Windows application.

What Changes?

The transition to AERMOD One is a branding update. Existing project files, modelling workflows, software capabilities and licensing arrangements remain unchanged.

The new identity will be reflected across the product interface, website, documentation and future releases.

AERMOD One continues the legacy of AERMOD Cloud under a name that better represents the software today and its future development.
