pavanaarekh is a wind rose plotting software application. It provides visual wind rose plots, frequency analysis, and plots for several meteorological data formats.
A wind rose or pollution rose is an illustrative way of presenting the distribution of wind speed/pollution concentration and direction at a particular location over a time frame. Using a polar coordinate system, the frequency of winds and pollutant concentrations over a time period are plotted by wind direction, with color bands showing wind/concentration ranges. The directions of the rose with the longest spoke show the wind direction with the greatest frequency.
